Measurement and transparency
Useful signals.
Not surveillance.
A site examining designed influence should not quietly build profiles of its visitors. Puppy vs Algorithms measures the performance of pages and tools—not the behaviour of identifiable people.
Planned production approach
Three deliberately limited signals
Cloudflare Web Analytics
Aggregate page views and referrers without cookies or fingerprinting. It will use the same hosting infrastructure as the site.
Google Search Console
Search queries, impressions, clicks and indexing information so useful pages can be found and maintained.
First-party aggregate counts
Totals for checklist downloads, completed route-finder paths, official outbound links and binary usefulness responses—without session linkage.
What we will not measure
The details belong to you.
- No complaint text, URLs, filenames, images or attachment contents.
- No connection between a visitor and the route they selected.
- No per-user identifiers, cross-page journey profiles or fingerprinting.
- No advertising pixels or social-media tracking pixels.
- No complaint inbox, case-submission form or moderation queue.
The honest limitation
The meaningful outcome happens off-site.
We can count that somebody downloaded a checklist or opened an official pathway. We cannot know whether a report was filed, accepted or led to an outcome—and we will not claim that those proxy signals prove otherwise.
- Measurable
- Downloads, route completions, official outbound clicks, search visibility and newsletter retention.
- Not measurable
- Whether a report was submitted, whether a regulator accepted it or whether it produced a remedy.
